Not Your Average Couple, Not Your Average Honeymoon
A little over a year ago, we got engaged. Almost immediately, we started talking about where we wanted to go on our honeymoon. All our friends suggested all inclusive resorts in the Caribbean, but being who we are, we we would be bored doing something like that. Sure, a couple hours on the beach, soaking up the sun and drinking all we want would be fun for a day... but what about after that? We then started venturing into road trips. We thought about taking a plane to the west coast, and doing a Portland, Seattle, and California trip. We love wine, so we figured why not? As we started pricing out our options, Derek looked at me and said, "If you could go anywhere you wanted, where would your dream vacation be?" It was Europe. It always was Europe. It always has been Europe. So, we decided to carpe diem and go to Europe!
It has taken months of planning. We decided to just take a single backpack each. This would make traveling easier on the planes and trains and cost us a lot less money in the long-run. Just finding the perfect backpack was a process. After months of trying on backpacks, Derek picked out a Gregory Z40 and Brittany picked out an REI Trail 40L, We will update you on what we can actually fit in those backpacks when we pack!
Last weekend, we finally booked all of our flights, hotels, trains, buses, and mini day trips. Here is what we decided on:
New York City, USA
Lisbon, Portugal
Madrid, Spain
Barcelona, Spain
Florence, Italy
Cinque Terre, La Spezia, Italy
Venice, Italy
Munich, Germany
Vienna, Austria
Prague, Czech Republic
Helsinki, Finland

11 Cities, 8 Countries, 15 Days, and 2 Adventurous Newlyweds...
A lot of our friends have listened to us as we explained, in detail, our honeymoon adventure. Many are exhausted by the shear thought of all of the travelling we will be doing but we are so unbelievably excited. Having the opportunity to do this, this early in our lives is amazing and we jumped at the opportunity.
We are excited about the opportunity to share this experience with everyone but our updates will only come when we have the opportunity to update the blog (and have Wi-Fi). We are going to enjoy every second of our great adventure and take all that Southern Europe has to offer.
Brittany and Derek
