New York City
New York was a BLAST.We started off with some lunch at the West End Bar and Grill. Britt had a watermelon tequila drink and I had a Maker's Mark old fashion. Britt loved her tuna steak wrap and the fries were awesome. Great service and a great place to put our bags down and refuel. We walked through a bit of Central Park before we stumbled upon a bar within the park. I can't remember the name but the drinks were good and we met a nice couple from Florida. We got to our hotel on 79th St., aptly named Park 79. Check in was quick, the room was nice and big and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We walked around the Upper West Side and popped into a few bars that looked fun. Highlife was where we had dinner. Really good drinks and food. Sushi was 50% off and Britt said it tasted really fresh. We ended up at a couple more places, I got a specialty Woodford Reserve and Britt got more tequila and then we ended up at a place called Insomnia Cookies which made for a perfect late night snack and a final stop before bed.
Day two started with lots of rain and ended up over 3500 miles away in Madrid. We loved the Natural History Museum. Even rushing through, we still saw so much! Walking there in the pouring rain with the umbrella packed away back at the hoel wasn't great. We had to wait in line for the museum, in the rain, when we got there. We got a cab to JFK which we learned is a flat fee of $52 plus toll and tip. Here are some pictures from the museum. We are so excited to mow be in Madrid and on our way to Lisbon!
