As someone with lactose intolerance, it is extremely hard to go out and get a dessert. While at the Boston Wine Expo in February, Derek made his way over to grab dessert at a bakers table. That baker was Jennifer Lee.Out of curiosity, Derek asked Jennifer Lee if her apple dessert had dairy in it. He practically screamed at me across the room when he was told there was no dairy.
Jennifer Lee is a Baker who specializes in desserts that are allergy friendly. She particularly specializes in desserts that are gluten free, vegan and sugar free.
The apple cake we had at the Wine Expo was delicious. I knew I had to seek her out again. When Derek found out she now has a permanent spot at the Boston Public Market, we made plans to go within days.
Derek and I went on Sunday to visit Jennifer Lee and her tasty treats at the Boston Public Market. We stopped by when we first got there, and she welcomed us. She gave us some info, including that everything she had for sale was dairy free. We decided to grab some lunch before indulging in dessert.
When we came back to Jennifer Lee, she told us that she loves our wine and dessert tradition. For those of you who don't know, every Sunday since we have dated, we have had wine and dessert. We have been separated by oceans, and still done wine and dessert via Skype or phone. We couldn't wait to share this wine and dessert Sunday with Jennifer Lee.
I ordered the Bacon Maple Bourbon Donut and Derek ordered a chocolate cupcake. We took them with us to enjoy while walking in Boston.
Derek said his chocolate cupcake was ridiculously good. He commented on how moist the cake was. It was rich, and he said there was no way you could distinguish it as dairy free.
Jennifer Lee makes high quality delicious products. It is worth your while to go to the Boston Public Market and check out what she has. You won't be disappointed.
